Jaslok Hospital Ensures Medical Safety for Over 8000 Runners at Sekhon- the 1st Indian Air Force Half Marathon in Maharashtra

Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre successfully served as the Official Medical Partner for Sekhon- the 1st Indian Air Force Half Marathon in the state, held on 4th October 2026 in Mumbai.

The prestigious event witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 8,000 runners across three categories (21 km, 10 km, and 5 km), bringing together armed forces personnel, professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts to celebrate endurance, discipline and national pride.

As Medical Partners, Jaslok Hospital curated and managed a comprehensive, multi-layered medical safety ecosystem to ensure zero-compromise runner safety from start to finish line.

The medical infrastructure included strategically placed medical aid stations across the entire route, Advanced Cardiac Life Support ambulances, rapid-response bike ambulances for quick access, a team of emergency physicians, cardiologists, orthopedists and paramedics, on-course physiotherapy support for cramps and injuries, and two fully equipped hospital medical tents (the Base-camp and Recovery-camp at the finish line) for emergency stabilisation and hydration support. A central medical command centre was set up to monitor the course in real-time. The entire medical operations  was led on-ground by Dr. Sunil Jain, Head, Accident & Emergency, Jaslok Hospital.

It was an absolute honour to lead the medical safety for this prestigious initiative by the Indian Air Force.”
