Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai and Phoenix Palladium Join Hands to Raise Awareness on Stroke through Flash Mob, Art, and Innovation

Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai, in collaboration with Phoenix Palladium, Lower Parel, hosted an impactful public awareness initiative to highlight the life-saving importance of timely action in stroke management.

The event’s highlight was a live flash mob skit that captured the attention of hundreds of mall visitors.
Performed at 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 4:00 PM, the act creatively portrayed how quickly a stroke can strike and how every minute counts in saving a life. Through engaging movement, dramatization, and synchronized music, the performance educated people on recognizing the FAST signs of stroke — Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, and Time to rush for help

Complementing this was a striking 6-foot clock installation at the mall atrium — symbolizing the Golden Hour, the crucial 60-minute window when immediate medical attention can prevent lasting damage. The clock, designed with a digital countdown, served as a strong visual reminder that time is the most critical factor in stroke management.

Adding an emotional dimension, the venue also featured a one-of-a-kind art gallery showcasing paintings created by stroke survivors themselves. Each artwork reflected their personal journey — from pain and paralysis to recovery and hope inspiring onlookers and offering a heartfelt glimpse into life after stroke.

This holistic awareness initiative was conceptualized by Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai’s team of expert neurologists and neurosurgeons Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr. Shirish Hastak, Dr. Pankaj Agarwal, Dr. Kushal Bhatia, and Dr. Mayur Gharat who together aim to drive stronger community understanding about recognizing and responding to stroke on time.

Dr. Bipin Chevale, CEO, Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai, said:

Stroke can happen anytime, anywhere — but acting within the golden hour can save both life and ability. Through this campaign, we aimed to reach people beyond hospital walls and help them understand that every minute matters when it comes to brain health.

Mr. Mayank Lalpuria, Director Marketing (North and West), The Phoenix Mills Ltd., added, “At Phoenix Palladium, our shopping and entertainment spaces go beyond leisure. Partnering with Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai for the World Stroke Day initiative, we engaged visitors to convey a vital message: in health emergencies like stroke, awareness, quick action, and community support save lives.”althcare. Women of all ages — especially those above 40 years or with a family history of breast cancer are encouraged to schedule their screenings and take the first step toward a healthier future.
