Celebrating the essence of heartbeats, Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital, Powai, commemorated World Heart Day by hosting a Djembe Drum Session for the doctors. The event witnessed participation of 50+ doctors who came together and created sensational rhythmic melodies resonating heart beats, underscoring the activity as the soul of a healthy heart. The activity was conducted in the presence of other doctors, medical staff and patients.
The deep-humming beats created an aura of positivity, while serving as a relief for both participants and the audience from the daily stresses of life, a major trigger for cardiac issues. The rhythm of Djembe drums was like the strong and steady pulse of a healthy heart. Through this collective performance, the hospital motivated the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle where cardiovascular wellness puts exercise and mindfulness on the centre stage. The musical commemoration showcased hospital’s commitment towards spreading awareness around the heart health of caregivers in an amusing and relaxing manner.

The efforts towards organizing a Djembe session for the doctors were directed towards reminding our own medical fraternity to care for their hearts. Doctors have a very stressful life and tend to ignore their own personal well-being while providing care for patients. Alongside, we created a sense of awareness among the audience to be mindful of their heart rhythm.
