The session is being conducted by Holy Family Hospital, Bandra (W), through its non-profit initiative iCARE, and will include practical demonstrations of hands-only CPR and AED usage, equipping teachers with essential skills to respond effectively during Sudden Cardiac Arrest emergencies.

Heart disease continues to be one of the leading causes of death in India, often striking without warning. Experts emphasize that timely action by bystanders can save lives, provided they know how to recognize cardiac arrest, administer chest compressions, and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

“Sudden cardiac arrest can occur anytime and anywhere. The first few minutes are critical, and trained bystanders play the most important role before medical help arrives. Our goal through iCARE is to ensure more people are confident and prepared to act in such situations,” said Ms. Sumaiya Raghavan.
