Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital launches a series of initiatives starting this World Heart Day

Introduces free CPR training for citizens, cardiac care for caregivers and launches South Asia’s and India’s First Naeotom Alpha Photon Counting CT Scanner

Commemorating the criticality of cardiac care awareness in India, Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital introduces a series of initiatives that move beyond awareness to action, combining community empowerment, innovation, and care for caregivers. Initiated on the occasion of World Heart Day, at the heart of the celebrations was the launch of South Asia’s and India’s First Naeotom Alpha Photon Counting CT Scanner, a breakthrough technology that reimagines cardiac diagnostics. It’s the future that replaces the conventional diagnostic coronary angiography. This advanced CT delivers ultra-high-resolution scans, detects even the smallest blockages, and overcomes limitations in imaging stents and calcified plaques - all while reducing radiation exposure by 30–50%. With this launch, the hospital has set a new benchmark in safety, clarity, and confidence for cardiac care.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Tarang Gianchandani, Group CEO – Healthcare Initiatives, Chief Executive Officer, Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, said: “We wanted to do more than spread awareness around cardiac health - we wanted to empower people to act. As a testimony, the introduction of Photon Counting CT is a landmark step in our vision to combine cutting-edge technology with preventive care. Alongside this, our large-scale CPR training and the Care for the Caregiver initiative reflect our holistic approach to building healthier communities.

Through our ‘Own the Tough Call’ campaign, we are inspiring individuals to make those difficult yet powerful health choices that ensure stronger hearts and healthier lives for themselves and their loved ones.”

As part of its commitment to empowering citizens with life-saving skills, the hospital commenced a large-scale CPR training camp. More than 500 participants including corporate employees, students, community leaders, and RIL staff, are already trained and certified in CPR techniques through live demonstrations and hands-on practice. With sudden cardiac arrest claiming thousands of lives in India every day, this initiative reflects the hospital’s mission to create a city of first responders ready to act when every second counts.

Recognizing that caregivers often neglect their own health while serving others, the hospital also announced the Care for the Caregivers initiative, offering over 100 free cardiac screenings for doctors. This symbolic yet significant step emphasizes that protecting the health of those who heal is vital for strengthening the entire healthcare ecosystem.

To amplify awareness, the hospital launched short video under its Own the Tough Call campaign, highlighting everyday decisions, whether choosing a healthier meal, taking time for exercise, or prioritizing check-ups, that shape a stronger heart and a healthier tomorrow.

With these initiatives, Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital reaffirmed its commitment to advancing heart health through awareness, action, and innovation, ensuring healthier hearts, stronger communities, and a future powered by life-saving technology.
