Mumbai Metro One Partners with Sirona to Install Multi-Product Menstrual Hygiene Vending Machines Across the Network

Initiative aims to expand inclusive, choice-led menstrual hygiene access for women commuters across key metro stations

Mumbai Metro One (Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar) has partnered with Sirona, one of India’s leading femtech brands, to install multi-product menstrual hygiene vending machines outside women’s washrooms across key metro stations in the city. The initiative aims to provide women commuters with convenient, dignified access to period products while on the move.

Building on Sirona’s successful deployments at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport in partnership with DIAL-GMR and across multiple M3M commercial complexes in Delhi-NCR, this expansion marks a significant step in integrating menstrual hygiene into everyday public infrastructure. Unlike traditional sanitary pad dispensers with limited options, Sirona’s vending machines offer a curated range of products, including menstrual cups, sanitary pads, tampons, panty liners and period panties allowing women to choose what best suits their needs rather than compromising due to availability.

Strategically placed just outside women’s washrooms, the machines transform routine metro infrastructure into a dependable support system for menstrual emergencies as well as planned use. The initiative aligns with a broader national push to make menstrual hygiene products as accessible and normalised as other daily conveniences in high-footfall public spaces.

Commenting on the partnership, Deep Bajaj, Co-founder & CEO, Sirona Hygiene, said, “This is more than convenience, it’s culture change in motion. Over the years, through partnerships at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport with DIAL-GMR and across multiple M3M commercial complexes in Delhi-NCR, we’ve seen how access to menstrual hygiene products in public infrastructure can genuinely change everyday experiences for women. From airports and workplaces to now the Mumbai Metro, it’s encouraging to see infrastructure partners acknowledge women’s real, everyday needs. Periods are normal, and access to the right products should be non-negotiable. We look forward to partnering with many more progressive infrastructure players across India.”

Shyamantak Choudhury, CEO, Mumbai Metro One commented: “At Mumbai Metro One, customer comfort guides every decision. With women forming a significant share of our ridership, integrating their needs into the transit experience is essential. The introduction of Sirona’s multi-product hygiene vending machines, ensures easy, discrete access to preferred hygiene products and reinforces our commitment to world-class metro infrastructure.”

In line with Sirona’s broader mission to break taboos around menstrual and intimate hygiene and make high-quality feminine care truly accessible to women everywhere, this partnership with Mumbai Metro One represents another milestone in bringing dignity, choice and convenience into everyday public infrastructure. Sirona, a purpose-driven femtech brand committed to solving unaddressed feminine hygiene needs across India through innovative products, education and impact-led initiatives, envisions a future where every woman has seamless access to the menstrual products she needs, whenever and wherever she needs them.
