Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre Unveils State-of-the-art Modular & Hybrid Operation Theatre
Advanced surgical technology, enhanced infection control systems, and next-generation hybrid capabilities set new benchmarks in precision, safety, and global standards of care
Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre (LHRC) has launched a state-of-the-art Operation Theatre (OT), where innovation meets precision to strengthen every step of surgical care. The newly upgraded facilities introduce advanced systems, refined workflows, and enhanced safety standards, each designed to create a seamless, hybrid environment that supports surgeons while safeguarding patients.
The new OT is designed to meet global standards of surgical excellence, and comes equipped with cutting-edge surgical technology, advanced patient control systems, precision monitoring, and enhanced patient safety protocols. This launch reflect the hospital’s ongoing investment in world-class healthcare infrastructure.
This new modular OT features fresh laminar airflow systems, a new HEPA filtration system, and surgical control panels, including digital viewing boxes. The upgrade also includes newly installed anesthesia pendant systems for better Improved Efficiency and Workflow, Enhanced Safety, Ergonomics and Mobility, Space Optimization.
A newly fabricated antimicrobial wall system has been integrated into the OT complex. These specialized panels are designed to help prevent infections, including surgical site infections—one of the most common complications observed in surgical care. With the introduction of the new modular OT, infection risks can be minimized significantly. Additionally, the modular OTs are equipped with a centralized CO₂ system to ensure streamlined and efficient surgical support.
The surgical pendant systems, which are ceiling-mounted medical equipment management units, are designed to assist surgeons during major and complex procedures, including robotic surgeries. Newly installed surgical lights with in-built cameras enable high-quality recording of procedures for documentation, training, and academic purposes.
One of the key advantages of the new modular OT is their ability to seamlessly integrate newly launched surgical and medical equipment available in the market. This enables faster adoption of emerging medical technologies and enhances procedural efficiency. The newly installed Anesthesia Pendant system further strengthens the capabilities of these state-of-the-art modular OTs. At the heart of this transformation is the hospital’s next-generation Hybrid Operation Theatre (OT), a space where patient safety, surgical efficiency, advanced imaging technology, and international standards come together in real time.
This integration allows surgeons to perform both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with greater accuracy and efficiency, reducing risk and improving patient outcomes. Every enhancement within these theatres has been carefully implemented to ensure that each procedure reflects the highest standards of precision, safety, and compassion that define Lilavati Hospital.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Rajiv K. Mehta, Permanent Trustee, Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre, said, “It is a proud moment for us to unveil our new state-of-the-art modular and hybrid operation theatres. This advancement reflects our continued commitment to investing in cutting-edge technology and global standards of care, ensuring that our patients receive the safest and most precise surgical treatment possible. At Lilavati Hospital, we remain dedicated to combining innovation with compassion, strengthening our promise of excellence in healthcare.”
