Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital For Children Conducts Gratitude Ceremony For Lions Club, Byculla for Lifesaving Support in Neurosurgery Cases
A heartfelt ceremony was held to appreciate the unwavering support of Lions Club Byculla in making critical neurosurgeries possible for patients in need
In a warm and heartfelt gesture, a special gratitude ceremony was organized by Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital For Children to honour the Lions Club of Byculla for their remarkable support in facilitating neurosurgery treatments for underprivileged pediatric patients. The event brought together several distinguished members of the club, including District Governor (Elect) Lion Feroze Katrak, President Lion Adil Mistry and Lion Lady Jinaz Mistry, Lion Lady Dr Arnie Buhariwala, and Lions Adil Bhesadia, Pirojshaw Sarkari, Adi Banaji, Percy Kaikobad, Adi Dastur, Neville Batliwala, and Neville Deboo.
During the ceremony, representatives from the medical team expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the Lions Club’s consistent involvement. The event also highlighted several success stories made possible because of their support. A total of 16 children have benefitted which include brain tumours, hydrocephalus and spinal dysraphism.

Their generous contributions have played a pivotal role in ensuring that critically ill neurosurgery patients received timely and quality care, often at crucial moments when financial constraints could have delayed treatment. Delayed neurosurgery in children can lead to serious, sometimes irreversible, complications affecting brain function and development. Timely intervention is crucial to prevent long-term neurological damage and improve outcomes. As we continue to care for more children in need, we look forward to extending this meaningful collaboration in the future, too,” said Dr Minnie Bodhanwala, CEO of Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital For Children.
